Dr. Jeff Feinman is a different kind of vet who helps pet parents and guardians who don’t know where to turn next, working with them to give their pets healthier, happier lives.
With a background rooted in conventional veterinary medicine and everyday local vet practice experience, Dr. Jeff has developed his “whole-istic” approach that goes beyond integrating holistic veterinary medicine to innovating whole-istic veterinary medicine. This approach integrates his scientific and homeopathy knowledge to improve companion animal health.
Dr. Jeff holds both molecular biology and veterinary degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and has conducted research for major academic institutions including the Department of Biochemistry at Penn’s School of Medicine.
After an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Dr. Jeff put his academic career on hold to work on the cutting edge of emergency veterinary medicine. He then started the original HomeVet housecall practice to diagnose and help heal dogs and cats in their homes, and treat the alarming rates of allergy, cancer and other degenerative diseases in the pet population.
Frustrated with the lack of results from conventional therapy of these chronic diseases, Dr. Jeff continued his lifelong dedication by bringing the best of both worlds to natural, holistically-applied therapies. He conducted research and experimented with the effects of homeopathic drugs (“remedies”) on himself and his pets, before incorporating them into his own practice.
Dr. Jeff subsequently studied with Dr Richard Pitcairn, David Little, Paul Herscu and Andre´Saine and became the first Certified Veterinary Homeopath in the state of Connecticut.
Dr. Jeff is devoted to teaching both pet owners and other veterinarians about optimal pet care. Currently his practice integrates the latest, safest, diagnostic techniques and treatments with holistic modalities such as clinical nutrition and homeopathy. He focuses on helping patients and clients maintain and regain wellness, by integrating his molecular biology and homeopathy knowledge into a unified method which he calls “The Path to Pet Wellness”.
The Path to Pet Wellness includes three pillars:
