Dr Jeff: I have been using World’s Best Cat Litter (corn-based) for awhile now. I just read that it is using gmo corn(genetically modified corn) and that when wet it can produce a very toxic substance to cats.

This same article talked about a non-gmo corn litter.

What is the safest and best cat litter to use, that does not produce any harmful side affects to cats like:
    – clay produces silica dust and can harm lungs
-newspaper based actually caused a serious reaction to my cat’s skin
    – I was also using Cedarific for awhile when was told by a vet that the cedar is harmful…is this true?

Other choices on the market: pine-base, walnuts, wheat…

Please advise which is the safest and best for cats.
