My dog had diarrhea about 1x month. 2 yr old female, spaded, golden retriever. She likes to eat bunny poo and duck poo – and we don’t always ‘catch her’ in time to stop her! Any suggestions of what I can give her to settle her tummy? My vet gave me sucralfate 1 gr tablets every 12 hrs.

    Hi Linda-

She may not need any drug. It sounds like these are infrequent and probably mild episodes. Consider using, when needed, liquid aloe vera or slippery elm.

Some of my clients also keep the herbal formulation Good-Form BM in the house in case of persistent diarrhea problems.
