I recently adopted a dog. We think she’s approx. 2 years old. I noticed she has some build-up on her teeth. How often should I have my dog’s teeth cleaned? I don’t like to have this done too often because they put her to sleep when it’s done.

When I adopted my dog, her teeth were caked. After reading the information on the HomeVet site and meeting Dr. Jeff, we changed her diet to a raw one (she eats Bravo! blends) and started giving her raw marrow bones and other raw meaty bones. The buildup is now gone and her beautiful teeth sparkle. I suggest you try giving your dog some bones to chew on – that’s a great way to keep the teeth clean naturally.
