I have a cat with central nervous system problems that started when she was spay as an adult cat. She was a rescue so we know nothing of her beginnings.
She has been to the 2 top neurologist for cats in our area and stumped both of them.
She is probably 11 years old now and her symptoms are getting worse. Is there any info you can give me to help her.
She staggers and shakes some and her walk is slightly stiff. She has trouble keeping her balance if she is not on a flat surface.

Good morning Lucinda-

I’d be very curious to know what the neurologists said (can you post that info here?). Has she had an MRI/CT or spinal tap? Is her bloodwork normal?

In general, you are describing a cerebellar and vestibular problem. Basically she probably feels like the world is spinning causing her to be unstable.

The homeopathic medical model can easily explain why this started after the surgery, but that’s another story. Since you have already explored your conventional options and everyone is “stumped”, then you should broaden your search for help.

A trained and experienced vet homeopath will use all of her specific symptoms (not just the neuro symptoms) to help her body heal as best as it is able. Even if you don’t have a local homeopath, many of us work as consultants over the phone and by e-mail. Look at http://www.theavh.org for more info and a referral.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Yes she had both an MRI/CT scan I do not remember if she had a spinal tap. Her blood work was normal. They were both stumped. Basically they said she has some kind of central nervous system problem that they could not identify. One vet even tested her for cushings desease.

I will keep you informed.
