New Puppy- Worms?

Link to this post 23 Jun 06

Hi There,
My father is adopting an 7.5 week-old Shep X Lab puppy from a family. (Not a breeder) The dogs are being kept outdoors in an enclosed pen. They have access to cats, etc.- She will be coming home on Sun., and seeing the vet on Tues. Im concerned about worms- Her behaviour appears normal, and she's a happy little girl, but is Sun-Tues too long to wait for her to receive a worming tab if necessary? She has not been de-wormed yet.
Thank you!

Not at all. Just bring a stool sample to the vet for analysis before giving a broad-spectrum dewormer. It's always nice to know what truly needs to be treated before gving drugs (which may not be necessary).
