VALLEY STREAM, L.I., NY. URGENT! Place needed for FeLv+ Family

THIS IS A DESPERATE SITUATION: WILL BE PTS IF NO PLACE FOUND VERY SOON!!!
My name is Norma Segarra and I'm the one dealing with this awful situation. My friend Jayne was trying to help me out. I volunteer at the Valley Stream, Long Island NY Petco where the rescue group adopts out cats. People are constantly dumping everything from newborns to seniors at the store and we take them, get them vetted and adopted. Two weeks ago someone left this mama and five babies taped up in a box outside the store. We had a foster all lined up but then she tested positive. We were devastated. All our fosters have multiple cats. I have nine and a nursing mother and babies in a tiny apartment. The rescue head said we might have no option but to euthanize. I said let me try to find a sanctuary. They are full, as are the other sanctuaries I contacted. I am desperate. These poor cats are in a basement storage room in Petco and CANNOT stay much longer. They want them out. Please help me find a place for them before it's too late. I get choked up every time I think of them.

Mama Mia was abandoned at a Petco sealed in a cardboard box on a hot day in July with her 5 newborn kittens. Mama Mia is a sweet, affectionate and very gentle cat. The kittens, now 3 weeks old, are thriving with her wonderful care.
Unfortunately, MamaMia tested positive for Feline Leukemia. She cannot remain at the Petco any longer and a home must be found for her IMMEDIATELY. Without a place to go, she has no future, as placement at a shelter at this time of year and being FeLv+ is virtually impossible. There is a slight chance that the kittens will not be positive but they are too young to be tested.
