This beautiful old girl needs your help! I found her last night in the middle of an intersection in New Britain, CT. She can hardly walk on her hind legs and looks to be partially blind with cataracts. I and a fellow rescuer scooped her up and brought her home with me. She is severely emaciated, missing fur, has sores all over her and riddled with fleas…they are literally sucking the life out of her. At about 1:00 a.m. we made a trip to a local ER to pick up capstar and advantix…we could not let her suffer through the night. After some relief and a full belly, she slept well. This morning when taking her out to the bathroom, what looked like she rolled in dirt, was hundreds of dead/dying fleas…she was infested! THIS does not happen in a short amount of time! She is currently at the vet where she will be getting blood work, xrays and will need to see a radiologist and a neurologist…we are expecting the bill to be quite a bit and with only 2 volunteers, we are in serious financial distress. I am waiting to hear how the vet visit went and will keep all of you posted.
In talking with a good Samaritan that had been following her, she said the dog was seen chasing a teenager…we now believe that the teenager was dumping her and was trying to keep up with her owner but just couldn’t :”( She is such a sweet, sweet girl and deserves a chance at a *good* life where she can live out the rest of her days. We have called this little angel, “Halo”.
